Guest Post Requests

I frequently get emails asking if I allow guest posts.  The answer is yes, with a few caveats.

FoodDude, MD connects with users via email and various social media platforms.  The audience tends to be individuals looking to improve their health through nutrition and growing their own food. Broadly, the site covers two topics: healthy food and how to grow it. If you would like to provide something of value to this audience, consider writing a guest post.  Here are suggestions for getting a post accepted:

  • Posts should be easily readable, free of spelling and grammar errors, and more than 1,000 words
  • Posts should be pertinent to the overall site message, applicable to the audience and follow a similar outline to other content on this site
  • Guest posts cannot link to a proprietary site or some other product that Food Dude, MD cannot recommend
  • Guest posters are more likely to be successful when making requests based on an established relationship.  Get to know us, have a look around the site, leave some comments, etc.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
